HAPPY SPRING SEASON

On my 19th birthday I called a dear friend of mine feeling a bit overwhelmed about growing up and moving out from my safe & familiar home on Forest Meadow Trail. Grace Ockrin comforted me by listening to where I was at. She shared that wherever life takes us eventually, because it will take us somewhere, we will be in it unified together. I know Grace will always be there on the other end to comfort me because we have built this loving, healthy relationship. I admire the heck out of you Grace!

I share my relationship with Grace to you because I want you to think about who the Grace is in your own life. Who can you share big dreams and visions with that will listen to you, encourage you? Who will be by your side even when life looks a bit overwhelming? In Galatians 6:2 Paul says to “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”

Once you’ve thought of that person, write to them. Tell them, if you’re genuine, how thankful you are for them. And that it’s the grace of God they put up with your silly, stubborn attitude:) In Colossians 3:15 Paul writes, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of ONE body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”

I encourage you to go out and reach your community today because of the great power behind a unified community. People who exhort you, care for you, love you, & see you are beautiful glimpses of how the Father values you. My prayer today is that you have someone who overwhelms you with abundant love! You are deserving of this reckless love. And that you take a humble posture and receive the love no matter how it’s given to you.

I’ll leave you today with this amazing scripture on community from Hebrews 10:24-25. It reads, “And let US consider how we may SPUR one another on towards love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

  1. Yes and amen! What a joy to know the gift of true, vulnerable community! And that other people’s love is a reflection of God’s deep love and value for each of us! Good word, son! 🤗

  2. Aww…has always blessed me to see such a close relationship amongst cousins. ( especially as their grandma!) To have it verbalized and written down is so special. Our God is/was/forever will be wise to plan community for us to grow and thrive in.

  3. Loved your post. Community and sustained relationships that take time and concern to cultivate are so so important. May such community centered around the Messiah be true for all of us, amen!!!
